Ingredients
- 8 oz Mafalda pasta, cooked according to package directions
- 1/4 cup butter
- 1/4 cup flour
- 2 cups whole milk
- 125g cream cheese
- 1/2 cup Parmesan, finely grated
- 200g bocconcini, sliced
- 2 cups Secilia™ tomatoes, halved and divided
- 2–3 Tbsp balsamic glaze
- 1/4 cup fresh basil, chopped
- salt and pepper, to taste
Directions
- Preheat oven to broil.
- Heat a large pot over medium heat. Add butter and stir until melted.
- Add flour and stir to make a paste. Cook for about 1 minute, stirring constantly.
- Slowly pour in milk, whisking until well combined. Cook for 4-5 minutes over medium- low heat, stirring frequently.
- On low heat, add cream cheese and Parmesan to the milk mixture. Stir until melted, about 5 minutes. Season to taste with salt and pepper.
- Add the cooked pasta and half of the Secilia™ tomatoes to the cheese sauce and gently mix.
- In a baking dish, pour in the pasta mixture.
- Top pasta with bocconcini and remaining
- Broil for 1-2 minutes or until the mozzarella is melted and turning golden brown. Remove from oven.
- Drizzle with balsamic glaze and garnish with fresh basil.
- Serve immediately.
